I wrote "Color" after my return from India in 2007. Late in the trip we visited an 'orphanage' in Aizawl, Mizoram. I use 'orphanage' loosely, as it was more of a compound, at the end of a 4 wheel only track into the jungle, with more adults than children. I can't say for certain what went on there, but I felt for certain what went on there. [More]

Four Letter Word is about being in a love hate relationship... where you want so bad to say two completely opposite things at the same time. [More]

About the Artist

You can never be beside yourself: Leonardo da Vinci wrote "The painter must be solitary. . . . For if you are alone you are completely yourself, but if you are accompanied by a single companion you are half yourself." I may not use brush or oil to relay my thoughts and feelings, but I am a painter by means of words. I write in solitude, away from life. It gives me the ability to put myself completely inside what I’m creating. I can escape the world.
